Boarding/Hospitalized Calorie Needs

Calculate daily caloric requirements for hospitalized or boarding patients using RER and illness factors.

Species affects feeding amounts and food calorie density calculations.
Enter the patient's current body weight in kilograms. If overweight (BCS >6), ideal weight will be estimated for calculations.
kg
BCS on 1-9 scale: 1=emaciated, 4-5=ideal, 9=morbidly obese. If BCS >6, calculations use estimated ideal weight to avoid overfeeding.
