Coagulation Panel Interpreter

Interpret coagulation panel results for dogs and cats with DIC risk assessment.

Normal coagulation reference ranges differ between dogs and cats.
Prothrombin time measures extrinsic and common coagulation pathways (Factors I, II, V, VII, X). Dog normal: 6-10 sec. Cat normal: 7-12 sec.

Measures intrinsic and common pathways (Factors I, II, V, VIII, IX, X, XI, XII). Dog normal: 10-16 sec. Cat normal: 12-18 sec.

Normal: 100-400 mg/dL. Elevated in inflammation (acute phase protein). Decreased in DIC (consumption) or liver failure.
mg/dL
Dog normal: 200-500 x10^3/uL. Cat normal: 175-500 x10^3/uL. Below 40-50 = spontaneous bleeding risk.
x10³/μL
Fibrin degradation product. Elevated indicates active fibrinolysis (clot breakdown). Normal: <0.5 ug/mL in most assays. Enter as positive or negative.
